LA REPUBLIQUE DISMISSES CASE AGAINST SCNC LEADERS

SCNC Detainees of 20th January 2007 were today 06/12/07 discharged and acquitted for want of diligent prosecution. Nfor Ngala Nfor ,UNPO Member Representive and other leaders of the SCNC were on January 20 2007 arrested at a Press Conference organized at the SCNC Secretariat at Cow Street, Bamenda. After long detention for close to three months the activists who were severely tortured upon arrest were granted bail and the case suffered several adjournments as the prosecution witness failed to be present to give evidence.
Justice Julius Nchu in dismissing the matter for secession labelled against the activist said it was thrown out of court for want of prosecution. After their release colourful at the SCNC national Secretariat for a spontaneous party of palm wine jubilation and chant of freedom songs. Addressing the activists national Chairman chief Ayamba Ette Otun described the acquittal as the best Christmas gift to the SCNC and the Southern Cameroons People. It also portrays a victory for the legitimate struggle for the restoration of the Statehood and sovereign independence of Southern Cameroons. The acquittal proves beyond reasonable doubt the Arrestee violated no law either local or international All attempts to by this reporter to reach Nfor Ngala Nfor who is in Europe for Diplomatic Offences failed as he was heading an SCNC Delegation to the European Commission.
The SCNC calls for an end to the frequent violations of the rights of freedom of Opinion ,Expression and assembly of Southern Cameroonians by the Proconsul and Occupation forces of La Republque du Cameroun
