SCNC REPRESENTATIVES ARBITRARILY ARRESTED AND DETAINED TO DETER UNPO INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION IN SOUTHERN CAMEROONS.

Civil and Political Rights and the right to Freedom of Expression, opinion and Assembly have once again come under gross violations in Southern Cameroons by occupation forces of La Republique du Cameroun.
The Latest Victims are nineteen (19) SCNC Representative that were arbitrary arrested at gunpoint, tortured and Detained incommunicado under deplorable conditions on 9th Feb. 2008.
SCNC representative gathered at Alamatu Quarter, Mankon L.G.A. in Bamenda at a private residence to plan the celebration of the 2nd UNPO International Day of Action under the theme “Burma and Democracy” Slated for 11th February , UNPO Founding Day.
The SCNC representatives were soon to become victims of the same brutal repression meted on the people of Burma as the meeting was raided by armed police. The SCNC representatives were arrested without a warrant and provisionally detained at the Mankon Mile VII Police Station. Prince Mbinglo Humphrey, SCNC Northern Zone chairman was refused access to see the Detained SCNC representatives.
The SCNC representatives were later transferred to the G.M I Police that authored the extrajudicial killings of motto-cycle rider with impunity on 16th Oct. 2007 and the Judicial police stations Bamenda where they are being inhumanly treated and detained incommunicado

8. Chi Samuel (40),SCNC representative

10. Fru Peter (52), SCNC representative
11. Atumko Fruasanga Cyprian (57), SCNC representative
12. Fontowah Nde Pierre (56),SCNC representative
13. Nicolas Ndinge (73), SCNC representative
14. Fru Chungong Christopher (59), SCNC representative
15. Forbanjong Michael Ndenge (56), SCNC representative

This arrest took place under the auspices of the Proconsul for Mezam county, Jules Marcelin Djanga. Detaining these representatives with most above 50 years and some being sick under such Deplorable conditions is intended to kill them, Hence silent genocide.
The SCNC condemns this arrest and calls on the international community to
1. Mount pressure on the brutal Annexationist regime of La Republique du Cameroun to release all the SCNC representatives unconditionally.
2. Recognized the SCNC as the voice of the people of Southern Cameroons.
3. Redress the prevailing situation of gross violation of peoples’ rights Southern Cameroons and Burma, for injustice anywhere is a threat to justice every where in the world.
4. Support the efforts of the UNPO in complementing world peace and Justice through non- violent means |
